Life's a beach

We are on the beach starting in late Spring (typically from April for the adults and May for the younger ones). We use the beach to train for running and beach games like flags, and we get in the ocean as much as we can.

We swim and board, and older nippers and upwards will get out on surf skis too when we can.

If you want to find out about any of this, get in touch.

Here's what happens…

Nippers

Croyde can obviously be a challenging beach for any of us, and we find that younger nippers can find it particularly tough when they are starting out. We build their confidence on the slightly gentler conditions at Putsborough Sands, thanks to a new container facility on loan to us. So we run a session for these young nippers this season on the beach at Putsborough Sands on Thursday evenings at 5.30pm, starting in late May. This will be a dedicated session for younger nippers only and for them it would be instead of the Wednesday night session on Croyde.

Masters

7-9pm on Croyde, Monday night

  • We run a session for experienced Masters (suitable for anyone who is comfortable in the sea and has some basic fitness - you don't need to be insanely-fit)

  • Also on Monday nights we run a beginners session at the same time, aimed at getting people back in the water in a supportive environment, complete with club lifeguards.
