(Sonic) Youth
Our Juniors use all the same kit as the adult Masters: fibre-glass rescue boards, surf skis and the rescue tube. They can also join our Monday night winter circuit training. Once they’re 16+ they can row in our surfboat too.
Nipper Juniors who turn 13 in the calendar year can begin training
All of our 14 – 19 year old youth team can train (and compete) in:
* Surf Ski
* Surf Rescue Board Paddling
* Surf Swimming
* Beach Events – flags & sprints
Some of our older youth members are qualified RNLI beach lifeguards, qualifications they’ve earned through the club. We encourage our youth members aged 14 and over to work towards the SLSGB Surf/Beach Lifeguard award, which means they can be employed as a professional beach lifeguard in the UK and abroad.
